Bring Your Personal Brand to Evans: We invite associates to dress as a reflection of who they are. Realizing each associate’s workday does not fall under a one-size-fits-all category, we do not expect our associates to dress that way. Our intent is to provide flexibility with associate attire with the expectation that associates will wear clothing they deem appropriate for the nature of their business on a given day, which may be dependent on their schedule, environment, location, and personal brand, while trusting associates to remain professional and use discretion with their attire decisions.
Hybrid Work Model: While a physical work location is not required for our core values to be lived, knowledge sharing, relationship building, and collaboration are all more effective when performed in person. We remain mindful however that, for some, work location preference may have changed through the pandemic. To ensure we are retaining the elements of our culture while remaining attentive to associate preferences, we offer a hybrid working model for most office-based positions. A hybrid model means that associates whose positions do not require full-time presence at a physical Evans location to carry out their job responsibilities may work both onsite and remote on a consistent and thoughtful basis. It would not be a requirement for these associates to work remotely but there could be the flexibility to do so for a portion of a work week.

What to expect: Each associate begins their Evans career through a structured onboarding program designed by both our Employee Experience Team and the direct Manager of the position. You will receive information on our systems, programs, processes, our company culture and how we work at Evans. After your initial learning, you will then meet with your Manager regularly throughout the year for coaching discussions. Through these sessions you will discuss recent positive events and results, any challenges, align on priorities while discussing progress made against goals and projects before closing out the session in discussing efforts in your continued professional development. We don’t believe in annual performance reviews. We would rather invest in your development throughout the year and receive your feedback through employee surveys and focus groups. We have a keen interest in the thoughts, ideas, and suggestions of our associates. We then share the findings along with actions developed in a timely fashion. With this approach, we have been honored with the Best Place to Work in WNY by our associates.
