President’s Message
A Message from David J. Nasca, President & CEO
We at Evans Bank stand in solidarity and witness with the community condemning a history of racial injustice and inequity. We strongly affirm and stand up to declare, in alignment with our values, that we are against all forms of hatred, discrimination, injustice and violence.
We have been taking time to listen, learn and reflect. While we don’t have all the answers, we are committed to working, engaging and seeking deeper understanding in order to better leverage our leadership, advocacy and strength as a community institution to push for and support positive change. We pledge to support inclusion, justice, diversity, equality, and opportunity for all as we believe these ideals give us strength as a community and society.
We must stand up and be heard on these issues. We cannot let another tragedy melt into inaction or neglect as we go on with our lives. It is critical that we are present with those who have for too long been disenfranchised by a system of injustice, oppression, and systemic racism. It will not be easy to change these ingrained generational wrongs but will require a concentrated effort and focus by all to seize the moment for change – it will take action. We commit to remaining focused on this issue, sharing our planned actions with our constituencies, and making racial justice a priority for our organization.
We believe that Black Lives Matter and we want people of color—including our associates, clients, and community partners– to know:
We Hear You,
We See You, and
We Stand with You in working toward a more just and equitable community and world.
