At approximately 6pm on December 28, 2014, a fire of undetermined origin broke out at Evans Bank Lancaster Branch (4979 Transit Road). No one was in the building when the fire broke out. Several fire companies were called upon to fight this blaze. As a result of the damage resulting from this fire, the branch will be closed indefinitely. Customers of Evans Bank Lancaster Branch are encouraged to visit any other Evans Bank branch location, including West Seneca, Clarence and Williamsville, which are situated in close proximity to the closed branch.
Employees of the closed location are being temporarily reassigned to our Williamsville Branch, located at Main and North Forest.
“This branch is an important part of our franchise, so we will make every effort to reestablish banking operations in this area as soon as possible,” said David J. Nasca, President and CEO of Evans Bancorp and Evans Bank. “While we are disappointed in the loss of property, we are pleased to report that the building was empty at the time of the fire, so no injuries resulted from it,” continued Nasca.
Lancaster detectives and the Fire Chief are currently investigating the origin of this fire and more information will be reported as soon as it becomes available.
