Modern community banking branch with interactive technologies opens after extensive fire damage
Eight months after a fire caused extensive damage to the Evans Bank branch at 4979 Transit Road, a newly rebuilt banking and insurance center is now open for business. Evans celebrated the grand re-opening of the Lancaster branch location this morning with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
“The Lancaster-Depew area is an integral part of the Evans family, and we couldn’t be more excited to reopen our new permanent location,” said David Nasca, President and CEO of Evans Bank. “This branch blends modern convenience and interactive banking technologies with neighborhood charm and the high level of community banking service our customers have come to expect from Evans.”
The new branch offers banking, insurance, and wealth management services, and features two cash recycler machines and a community room. Staffed by Universal Bankers, cash recyclers are a secure banking technology that automates standard transactions and accepts, dispenses, and stores cash; allowing an enhanced level of customer service. The community room is available by reservation for after-hours events, business meetings, or other community activities.
The phone number for the Evans Lancaster branch will remain the same at (716) 681-0400. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ATM access is available 24 hours.
In the coming weeks, Evans will be the first Western New York-based bank to introduce an Video Teller Machine. Video Teller Machines look like traditional ATMs, but offer personalized, face-to-face service via video conferencing. Customers simply touch the screen and talk with an Evans Bank representative to cash checks, make deposits and withdrawals, make loan payments, transfer money between accounts, check balances, and more. Video teller machine service hours will coincide with Evans Customer Experience Center extended hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Evans will continue its grand re-opening celebration throughout the week with daily activities, giveaways, and visits from local businesses and restaurants, including its Customer Appreciation Day today from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. where free lunch will be served.
On Sunday, December 28, 2014, the former branch building caught fire, resulting in extensive damage and a complete rebuild of the location. Evans operated a temporary banking location on the site during reconstruction from January 6 to August 1, 2015.
