Robert Chelus has joined Evans Bank as Appraisal Manager, responsible for overseeing appraisal activities related to residential and commercial real estate lending.

Chelus most recently served as a Staff Appraiser and Multi-Family Lending at First Niagara Bank. He previously held the position of Staff Appraiser and Right of Way Agent for Emminger, Newton, Pigeon & Magyar, Inc.

Chelus holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Design from the School of Architecture and Planning at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a Certified General Appraiser in New York State and a registered Notary Public. Chelus is also a candidate for the Appraisal Institute’s General Review Specialist (AI-GRS) designation, a designation held by professionals that can provide appraisal reviews for several property types, including commercial, industrial, agricultural, residential, vacant land, and others.

Chelus is the Chairperson of the Town of Boston Board of Assessment Review and Board Member of the Town of Boston Zoning Board of Appeals. He is also the Secretary and Public Relations Chair of the Western New York/Ontario International Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Chelus resides in Boston, N.Y.
