Evans Bank welcomes two new additions to its Compliance team with the hiring of Christopher Nowak and Christopher Rickerson.

Chris Nowak pictureChristopher Nowak has joined Evans Bank as Vice President, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). He is responsible for executing the institution-wide BSA, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Programs, implementing the financial crime program, and managing the BSA Compliance Department.

Nowak previously served as Vice President, Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit and BSA/AML & Office of Foreign Assets Control Officer (OFAC) at Five Star Bank. Prior to that, he was a Senior BSA Officer with Evans for over two years.

Nowak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Buffalo State College. In the community, he volunteers Habitat for Humanity. He resides in Lancaster, N.Y. with his family.

Christopher RickersonAdditionally, Christopher Rickerson has joined Evans as Senior Bank Secrecy Act Analyst, Bank Officer. He is responsible for ensuring that the Company is compliant with the BSA, and acts as a subject matter expert for the bank as it relates to BSA questions and compliance.

Prior to Evans, Rickerson most recently served as a BSA/AML Analyst II at Five Star Bank in Rochester, NY. He also worked for Santander Bank in Boston, MA.

Rickerson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economic Crime Investigation from Utica College, and is a member with the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists. He resides in Buffalo with his dog Daisy.
